It’s TimeDomestic Violence and the Justice System in Africa
African Women Join Hands Against Domestic Violence gives an inside glimpse of the lives of African women and girls forced to flee abuse. The video production tells how a unique partnership between a Canadian agency and two African organizations is working to combat an epidemic of domestic violence.
From the violent streets of post-apartheid Johannesburg, South Africa, to the impoverished countryside of Ethiopia, where up to 80% of marriages result from abduction and rape, this provocative video production gives a glimpse of how domestic violence is intertwined in the history and the social and cultural fabrics of these African countries.
